Gabbars in uniforms besmirched Cubbon park beauty

Other Day up with the lark,I was in Cubbon park in Bengaluru.fresh air and fragrance of flowers were bathing environs.

Magic hours of nature were about to commence with sun rise. In dimly lit expanse of the sprawling park, I noticed a few young men, clad in winter clothings ,were engrossed in arranging cut flowers . they were gently handing flowers and buds while fixing them in twisted iron rings and large plates of mosses.
I was spell bound with myriad  variety of flowers of bright hues.fresh air was blowing  and chirping birds- surprisingly sparrows- were giving background music to the natures dance.
The absorbing early morning scenario left me confused whether to go for the brisk walk or quietly stand near bunch of flowers to breathe air and enjoy wafting fragrance.

The joy was short lived when it flashed suddenly in my mind that it is one such location where a budding takent was crushed wildly by none other than custodians of lush green confines.

In a shocking incident of criminal assault,a 30 year old engineering student from Tumakuru was raped by the security guards in Cubbon park four days ago. I was there on Nov 14, 2015 to attend a marriage.

The Victim had come to enquire about a coaching in the Karanataka  State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) ,located on the park premises. She was criminally assaulted by the Guards, to whom she had made queries for the coaching.

The two accused were arrested and investigations are underway, but the mute question which dominates walkers mind that the Horticulture department should have also ensured that antecedents of  the guards put on the duty should have been thoroughly upchecked by the hiring security agency . A number of times incidents had taken place there . The Incident has maligned the reputation of the park which has bewitching charms.

I was feeling elated to be in the city of Parks but the incident gave a sick feeling and all enthusiasm  and enjoyment  dissipated.
I was feeling fresh in the city as it was giving much sought after break from the hustle bustle of Delhi and nerve wreaking work load but the incident pricked all zeal .
When I was returning from the park ,I noticed a lot 0f young children were trooping there with their teachers and parents to mark Children’s Day.As The Flower show was organized on the lush green lawns so flowers decorators were at work since early morning.
