Corrugated Political Turf : Parties tip toeing amid growing cacophony of Intolerance

In the world's most populous democracy India ,political turf is getting corrugated with every passing election -may it be for the lower house of Parliament ,State assemblies, Local bodies and any other elected body.
The situation has driven politicians to tip toe on the political space as even  minor slippage,on any index which determines electorate mood, quickly mar prospects at hustings.

The 2014 general election paved way for ascendency of Narendra Modi to the coveted slot, but elements whipping up frenzies on communal and religion lines and ever shooting prices of eatables have played havoc unleashing plethora of problems .the price paid by the ruling coalition is colossal. It's credibility is at stake and opponents got ammunition to beat the ruling dispensation at the poll booths. The centre should have been forthright and assertive to tackle .

The cost was heavy in form of its resounding defeat in Bihar. Mr Nitish on whom lot of hopes have been pinned by people as well as the opposition camp is tip toeing on rough surface of his home stage where Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) is bigger than CM's party.

Those who have lost are bent upon unleashing the campaign that “jungle Raj” of Lalu Days is on the come back trail. Mr Nitish in close tandem with Lalu are burning midnight oil to dispel such perceptions. Much water has flown in Ganges and Lalu ,ace strategist, understands complications of any slippage.

Both of them are conscious of the deal handed over to them on platter by electors and they can not afford to fritter way gains.

Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has become so conscious of his “Mr Clean”image that he offered an explanation of his “hugs”at the swearing in ceremony in Patna. He said that Lalu had pulled him from the back and hugged him. Some people had raised eyebrows on the two leaders hugs at the stage, but whether such an explanation was required after Arvind’s open support to the Grand Alliance in Bihar. Lalu has won confidence of his people in fair polls and his people feel insulted with such remarks.

Every one is sensitive in the highly surcharged political environs.
The national party Congress which was drubbed badly by the Modi led campaign in2014 has tied up with The Lalu Nitish duo gain foot hold in the crucial Hindi heart land state and it has gained 27 seats out of 41 seats it contrasted. But it is more cautious now for future tie ups.

The party leaders are cautious of committing anything on the UP state polls scenario in 2017 as any slippage at this stage, may play a spoil sport in cobbling winning alliances  whether in Punjab, UP or Assam etc. The party, now buoyed by its yet another Victory in the Ratlam seat in the Madhya Pradesh, is smelling change in air and wants not to take any risk in five sates going to polls next year. The states are Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala , West Bengal and UT Puducherry.

The Party leaders are judging people’s mood with a heavy dose of caution as the state polls are its ( Cog) hopes for revival and regain besmirched glory of the Grand Old Party.

BJP, which has made dent in the Congress camp, in far flunged state of Manipur by winning Two Assembly seats in bye elections though the Congress is in the power there,is reviewing its strategies for coming polls in states like Assam where the BJP stands some chance .But After the Bihar polls and the party defeat in its current pocket borough in MP, BJP leaders watching things closely to oil its machinery afresh. In 2014, BJP had won 27 out of 29 seats in this Hindi state.

BJP President’s elections are due in next two months and speculations are rife that their might be a major shake up both in the party organization and Modi Ministry to embark on a fresh course for retaining it strong national alternative to others like Congress and Third front’s groups.

Though the Modi’s Home state Gujarat civic polls have no bearings on the national scenario, but elections are crucial as it will boost or demoralize party’s rank and file in the state which also goes to polls in 2017.

The polls are on there and Hardik Patel’s imprisonment on charges of sedition has created ripples among Patel community which forms major chunk in the state.

Hardik, 22 year old boy,had mobilized lakhs of Patels in his rallies in September to press demands for reservation to Patidars . Violence and clashed with police had left at laest 10 people, including police men, dead and scores others injured and a number cities were put under curfew orders.
After the stir, Hardik had emerged on the national scene ,but was later slapped with sedition charges after some audio tapes of his alleged objectionable conversation. His imprisonment is also the issue during the polls which are manly for civic amenities and other local facilities.

The Winter Session Of Parliament ,beginning tomorrow, will witness more uproarious scenes in the wake of surcharged atmosphere and Now the Center deft handling of the situation is warranted.
