Cricket Row plays spoilsports in New year Party ;Bitterness among political parties multiplies

he Winter Session of India's Parliament ended last Friday.During the Session, both inside and outside the house, high octane political tussles broke, inflicting  deep wounds among various political parties. The growing bitterness left many guessing about future course of things –stored for the New year.

For Prime Minister Narendra Modi tough agenda lies ahead after completion of Foreign trips to Russia and Afghanistan as the political cauldron has turned red hot ,and no one is sparing any one to settle scores amid ever increasing political intolerance.

A blizzard of accusations is hitting Finance minister Arun Jaitley for alleged irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association during his President ship of the organization but he is unfazed and pursuing libel case against Delhi's  Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is vociferous against the Central government.

Kejriwal stepped up his opposition to Modi and sought his resignation for shielding Jaitely.it is for the first time that any leader sought Modi's resignation since 2014 when he had swept his party to power  at the center with a brute majority.

Kejriwal though is heading a quasi state assembly is gaining grounds among political parties of various hues like Trinamool Congress, Janata Dal ( United), RJD etc.though there is no apparent chemistry between his Aam.Admi  party and Congress, both of them were part of the same dispensation which now rules The most challenging Hindi heartland state of Bihar .

Former Test cap  and BJP MP from Darbhanga  Kirti Azad who has been suspended within hours of the Parliament winter session ended,is up in arms and has sought Mr Modi’s intervention in the DDCA affairs and his suspension.

BJP's senior leaders who forms its Margdarshak Mandal, guiding committee, met at Murli Manohar Joshi’s residence and they understood to have favoured indepth probe into the DDCA affairs. But no official statement was issued as they had done soon after BJP’s rout in Bihar assembly polls. The Meeting was attended by LK Advani, Shanta Kumar, former Union Minister and Yashwant  Sinha, former finance minister.

The BJP has suspended Kirti Azad from the primary membership of the party accusing him of causing disrepute to party by colluding with opposition –Congress and AAP .Azad was vociferous in his demands for probe in DDCA affairs during Jaitley’s tenure as President in the association.,
Opposition has lapped up the issue and has mounted pressure on the ruling dispensation for probe into the cricket body and action against those responsible for irregularities.

Irked over developments including  the way Mr Arvind Kejriwal spoke in the special session of Delhi assembly last week, Mr Arun Jaitley has lambasted him and Congress .

Mr Jaitely lashed out at Congress for obstructing parliament session and AAP for “Lumpenisation of Public discourse”. In his blog “stray thoughts after the Winter Session, Mr Jaitley invoked Former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru while castigating the Congress for blocking Good and Service Tax (GST) bill and other legislations.

But in an important development, Former Union Minister Sharad Paqwar who headed BCCI ( Board of  Control for Cricket in India) said  in Pune though DDCA was bedeviled  by corruption, Mr Jaitley is incorruptible and will never stoop so low.

Amid these developments,Tongues wagged that The sports bill, which was prepared by then Congress Minister Ajay Makan in 2011 was very relevant to bridle corruption ,but it was scuttled  deliberately  by vested interests.

The Political Scene is pregnant with animosities and apprehensions are spiraling that  these will multiply further in the wake of Assembly polls coming in Five places - West Bengal ,Tamilnadu, Kerala,Assam and UT Puducherry in the new year.
