Climate meet Agenda being worked out amid Chaotic Chennai Deluge & China Haze

Deluge in Tamilnadu, haze wraps in Beijing ,alarming levels of pollutants in Delhi air and many such freak but not uncommon climatic disasters have pressed panic buttons across the World now a days.

Such disturbing incidents are coming at a time when ace negotiators from over 150 countries are engaged in war of nerves to ink international agreement on the climate change in France.

Confronted with heavy layers of brown haze in its cities.China has advised people in Beijing to be careful while many industrial units have been asked to. Shut down and schools closed till air quality improved.
It had issued orange warning, second highest warning, and now reports say the haze is dissipating and blue sky is seen again. The country's cabinet decided many  initiatives to deal with the situation while  pledging for more steps to stop green house gases substantially and reducing use of fossil fuels.

China will reduce emissions from major pollutants in power sector by 60 per cent in next five years besides ensuring  reductions in carbon dioxide emissions annually from coal based power stations by 180 million tonnes in the same period.
.
Pollution levels in Delhi are quite high and state government is mulling over closure of schools when the air quality is very poor. Authorities concerned over the situation, has asked Punjab and Haryana to ensure that there was no burning of paddy in fields.

The Chennai havoc has revived memories of similar 2005 deluge in Mumbai, floods in Srinagar in 2014 and similar natural tragedies in Uttrakhand.

World eyes are transfixed at COP-21 in Le Bougert where stands of United States and China are crucial as the Paris meet is almost last meet before major disaster hits the planet earth.telltale signs of natural calamities are evident across the world throughout the year.

Fiasco in Copenhagen has resulted into loss of crucial six years otherwise world would have marched ahead to cope up the situation in more constructive way.

Negotiators at  Paris meet should target limiting temperature to 1- 1.5 degrees C rather than 2 degree C as any slippage on target front may shoot  temperature, resulting into chaotic conditions.

Now, Negotiations are progressing at slow pace and talks ,as anticipated, were boiling down to funding by developed countries to developing beyond 2020 as per plans climatic funds of 100 billion dollars per year had to be made available by 2020 to developing nations for adopting cheap clean technology.
There was no time left for traducing each other on bogus facts on emissions, funding and other related issues but high time to thrash out pragmatic agreement with legal bindings for finances and regular reviews of pollution control steps.
