Is losing a tooth not less than a disability? Dentists say yes and assert oral health merits a periodic upkeep
On
the occasion of World Oral Health Day, yesterday,March
20, Department of Oral, Dental and
Craniofacial Care at Yashoda Hospital, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, organized a
public campaign, where Dr Payal Agarwal (Cosmetic & Laser Dentist), Dr
Anmol Agarwal (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon), Dr Amit Chabbra
(Diabetologist & Endocrinologist) and Dr Vidhya Ghosh (Pediatric
Intensivist), addressed the public regarding the importance of oral health and
its direct connection with the general health of a human body, under the tag
‘Oral Health for Total Wellness’.
The
event was conducted in collaboration with World Dental Federation (FDI), Geneva,
Switzerland. Dr Sunil, Dr Ashish, Dr Siddharth, Dr Rahul Shukla, Mr Sahil and
Mr Rahul from team Yashoda were active participants.
After
interacting with the people, the team held Free Dental OPD for the day to
motivate people and make them aware about their existing oral health status in
person. Dr Payal said “good oral health
plays a crucial role in building up one’s self esteem and confidence’ while
Dr Anmol pointed out “oral health
requires periodic maintenance and losing
a tooth is not less than a disability”. Dr Amit Chabbra gave an insight to “spread of oral infection to rest of the
body affecting general health”. Dr Vidhya, addressing the audience, said “how
you maintain your kids oral health today, will decide his/her future general
health”. Friends lets contribute to this initiative and educate ourselves about
Oral Health Maintenance which is not only limited to teeth, but encases
plethora of medical conditions to be taken care.
