THDCIL-An Exceptional Year (2016-17) with Exponential Growth

  

The year 2016-17 is in real sense Exceptional Year with Exponential Growth for THDC India Limited (THDCIL). The Corporation has excelled in almost all the areas such as Capacity Addition, Energy Generation, Revenue Realization, Fiscal management. 


According to an official spokperson,The Corporation added many feathers in its cap. Like : Capacity Addition: - In Renewable Sector the Corporation has successfully Commissioned 02 Wind Projects (50MW Patan & 63 MW Dwarka in Gujarat) registering its presence in Western Region of the country. By commissioning  63 MW Dwarka Wind Power Project on 31st March 2017, THDCIL became  eligible to receive Generation Based Incentive (GBI) of Rs. 63 Crore from Govt. of India. This enhanced our installed Capacity from 1400MW to 1513 MW.  

63 MW Dwarka Wind Power project awarded to M/s Suzlon Energy Limited on 28th November 2016 with scheduled commissioning period of 4 months was actually implemented and commissioned in a record period of 3 months after obtaining Developer Permission and Transfer Permission from Govt. of Gujarat in December 2016.

Prudent Fiscal Management:- THDCIL paid Interim Dividend of Rs. 104.98 Crore to Govt. of India and Rs. 36.91 Crore to Govt. of UP on account of its financial performance during F.Y. 2016-17. In 2016-17 the total collection touched Rs.2276 Cr with total billing touching Rs 1966 Cr. which includes Wind energy (Rs.23.4 Cr).

 For the first Time THDCIL has tapped the Financial Market to Raise the Funds through Private Placement of Bonds. For this the bidding was conducted on 29.09.2016 on E-Bidding Platform of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The issue Size was Rs. 300 Crore with Green Shoe Option. THDCIL was able to raise Rs. 600 Crore at a coupon rate of 7.59%. The issue was oversubscribed 3.5 times.  Energy Generation:- The Corporation has Generated 4370.81 MU of Energy against the target of 4189.12 MU out of which 3146.25 MU is generated from 1000MW Tehri HPP, 1224.56 MU is generated from 400MW Koteshwar HEP. In addition to this 59.04 MU is generated from 50MW Patan Wind Power Project. Corporation has exceeded the targets set by Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

Awards & Accolades:-  Tehri HPP got the Award of “Best Maintained Project”  by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP). The Corporation got NTPC Rajbhasha Shield for the outstanding Performance in the implementation of Official Language. THDCIL also bestowed with HR Exceed Award 2017 for effective Human Resource Management.

THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1513 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) and Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat to its credit.
