It is all about a Dog.
But,this is not a famous piece of 20th century –“All about a Dog'', an Essay by AG Gardiner. It has another elements, too. Two lives -a puppy and an injured (road accident victim) were saved by a 24 year old architect Aakarsh Tyagi on a pitch dark night in New Lodhi Colony in New Delhi a few months back.
Dr Khurshid Guru,a New Yorker, shot into prominence when he saved the life of a a two year old on a flight from Spain to United states in Otober last year when had made a make shift a device to help the asthmatic toddler , he made the nubulizer by an oxygen mask ,a water bottle and inhaler. But who Knows about Road Warrior Aakarsh.?When the world woke up to mark the Rabies day on September 25, 2015, Aakarsh had saved life of a puppy at deserted new Lodhi colony around 2 am on a dark road.
He had to stop as a puppy had blocked the road and was not allowing to pave way for the car.The puppy had refused to blink and yield unless it was picked up in the car, replacing the young man’s laptop to snuggle in cool AC breeze of the cushioned seat.
But no sooner Aakarsh heaved a sigh of relief and started moving his car he noticed an injured man hailing him to stop. The man was writhing in pain and wanted immediate medical help. He was in mental trauma and had suffered wounds in one of his foot. Blood droplets could be noticed on his trousers. In a reflex action, driven y his inner voice ,Aakarsh swung into action and took the injured in the car to distant Mayur Vihar where his entire family was waiting anxiously with tears swelling in eyes .
They immediately took him to a nursing home. Another life was saved. The architect’s mother who was waiting impatiently for her son on that odd hrs the night , and was giving him calls on the mobile heaved a sigh of relief to see him back.
Puzzled with the sight of the young puppy in Aakarsh’s hands and unaware of the entire episode his parents first reaction was that ”it was not right to separate a puppy from the mother. Now, the businessmen who runs a hotel and the young road warrior are in constant touch and exchange pleasantries every day morning. Both sides had mixed reactions, the injured man’s family thank their stars that he was saved by timely help.Aakarsh's family is of the view that if something had gone a miss, it would have been disastrous to face police in such eventuality.
Aakarsh, boarding his sleek white car, fixes jet black hair with a hair pin and happily recalls the entire episode. He says it was the dog which saved a human life and He was only the Tool of the nature of such a development.
The stray puppy ,” Awara”, is now named as “ Mylow” because of its striking resemblance of the dog in the movie Mask.It enjoys a royal life though it had not born with a silver spoon but now resides near the Silver Spoon Banquet Hall Vaishali, Ghaziabad.
Like Gardiner’s essay’s bus conductor rules, ground rules of safety on roads are discussed whether Aakarsh should have brought possibly a rabid puppy to his house and risked taking the injured in the car."Had he succumbed to injuries to due to bleeding what would have been the scene."
His parents feel that in such scenario,a caution should have been exercised to avoid legal complications, but the warrior is of the view that lives were more important than the road rules.Rabies injections were given to the puppy for whom bands and belts were purchased.
The gates of the residence are shut to ensure that Awara dogs don’t gain entry and the puppy gets a healthy rearing. Aakarsh has own band with name Scootarist (available on youtube).
