DREAMS ARE DRIVERS; DETERMINATION AND GRIT KINDLE ZEAL T0 ACHIEVE IMPOSSIBLES

 For an agriculture labor cum daily wage construction worker, it was a great day when he managed to improve education facilities in his alma mater in a mofussil corner of southern Karnataka in recent past.

 In his school’s modernized building, a mothers’ conclave was held to felicitate them as they are the first teachers of kids, and their dedicated efforts in grooming kids cannot be measured by any yardsticks.

For Nagappa Veerappa of Bakkannanavar of village called Devagiri in Haveri Taluka / District of Karnataka, a great dream has come true. Born to a poor family, he, throughout his student life, worked as an agriculture labor, building construction worker, a security guard and so on to meet my daily expenses and completed my Master of Library & Information Science and Ph.D. in 1997 and 2009 respectively.

Currently, he works with Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore. Fired by zeal to impart the skills to students, he always envisioned scope for school improvement by imparting skills at school level.

As a first step, he personally spent / contributed about Rs. 5, 00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs saved from his salary) to the Government Higher Primary School No. 2, Devagiri, Haveri Taluka / District. He had studied there at primary level.

For setting up a Smart Class, installing the CCTV Cameras (to protect the school from ill legal activities), printer, building renovation, interiors, organizing Mothers Conclave, He launched a slew of initiatives there and accomplished the task.

He says, in a statement, now the school teachers can use the latest technologies like EyeRIS interactive Board, Audio Visuals and school syllabus in digital format to teach and make the lectures more interactive, which will help the students to understand better and faster as well as memorize the lessons taught in the school.

This week, the modernized school building and the Smart Class was inaugurated. His mother Kannnvva was there to bless the imitative.

On the smart class inaugural day, Mothers’ Conclave was organized as they are the first and best teacher in everyone’s life and honored them with a return gift to make the conclave a memorable one.

According to him, on most of the Saturdays and Sundays, he conducts the sessions on IT Employability Skills in various institutions for free through his TCS CSR team as well as personally.
